Raven Magwood, teen author, motivational speaker and athlete is right on time with the release of her latest book “Double-Sided”, a fictional account of two teenage girls growing up on opposite sides of a small segregated town. The novel is full of twists and turns and the teens are brought together by a long-time secret.
Raven says that even though we’re in a new millennium, one of the lessons to be learned from her book is “Don’t listen to negative things around you. People can make a difference.” She says wrote the book from her heart not knowing why she was internally driven to complete it.
Within days of “Double-Sided” being released, the Don Imus story exploded into the media and Raven says she understood then why she was compelled to write the book. “I want to open the eyes of people and show them that we are all one human race.”
Raven published her first best-seller, “On to Victory: The Winning Edge” at age 11. A junior and honor student at Greenville Tech Charter High, Raven is also a gifted, national Junior Olympic gymnast and a member of the high school track team.
